Corey Olsen’s Look On Still Life
New York based photographer, Corey Olsen has a parculiar way of seeing; each object is a story, and each story can be told in a single image. Paying special attention to keeping his pictures vivid and vibrantly hued, Olsen engages in a very intimate relationship with the pieces he shoots. A sock tightly pulled up along a leg. A plain wooden barrier. There’s something special, and secret, about Olsen’s world. While some of these images resemble the normality of a daily scene, it’s precisely that mundane element that makes them striking, forcing us to look for the story in every object.
