Blaine Skrainka, senior editor The WILD Magazine

What he’s currently working on:
Googl’ing GIFs, most likely.

What good energy means to him:
Savasana. And a spontaneous fit of Monk:

Thelonious Monk spinning dancing gif

What he thinks there is too much of, and too little of:
Too much self-congratulation; not enough empathy.

With whom he would like most to go on a tête à tête:
Teju Cole or Ta-Nehisi Coates, but ask me again tomorrow.

Heavy rotation:

On his life to-do list:
Speak Spanish fluently. And make music.

If he were president:
Domestically, I would advocate for health care and education as fundamental human rights. Internationally, I would push for comprehensive actions to curb carbon emissions and mitigate climate change.

His most striking moment:
Every time I lose my breath for a second, then look over at the Midtown Manhattan skyline from across the East River in Brooklyn—that always feels pretty striking.

His earliest memory:
Watching a load of clothes spin through a dryer window.

What he would like to leave to future generation:
A healthy planet and atmosphere.

Blaine’s WILD Wish:
I have two: I wish that I could speak every language on the planet, and I wish to teleport.
