Where he lives: Los Angeles

What he’s currently working on:
A bunch of different things at the moment: just finished up a bunch of concept matte paintings/photos for Chromeo which are bananas. It was great getting to work with those guys and I think those pieces will be out any moment now. Also, I just shot the new First Aid Kit campaign which was a blast. Those girls are the rarest of birds and hands down the most talented musicians I know. Did some colorful photo work with the actress Jena Malone a few weeks ago which should be out in early March. Her fans will enjoy what we did I think. A few videos in post, and a handful of album covers for friends and indie bands as well.

What good energy means to him:
Positive state of mind, positive support, supporting others, staying inspired, and good health. Right?

What he thinks there is too much of and too little of:
Too much pollution and suffering, not enough hours in the day.

Who he’d like most to go on a tete a tete:
Probably Shuji Terayama. Sadly, he’s no longer alive but in past decade as another person that would be my first choice. That or meeting Katsuhiro Otomo for an internship in Tokyo.

What he’d be doing if he wasn’t a photographer:
Making music, doing sound design possibly. I don’t know, I never think about it.

His most striking moment:
I have no idea…it would feel weird for me to say if I even knew.

His earliest memory:
My grandfather’s truck bed and my blue Sesame Street pants.

What he considers a fashion faux pas:
I consider myself a fashion faux pas. Anyone that knows me can say that I hardly every change my shirts etc. I still have the same t-shirts from high school and I wear black pants almost everyday. I’m stuck in my high school art geek days, I suppose.

What cracks him up:
Sometimes the least funny things; people having unharmful accidents. And Bill Murray.

The WILDEST situation he’s every experienced:
It would be completely inappropriate for me to say in an interview.

Who he’d like to grow old with:
It’s hard to know at this stage in my life. A lot of things changed in 2013.

What he’d like to leave to future generations:
I suppose a solid body of work but it feels premature to make such a statement. That’s a question for an artist with a seminal piece underneath their belt.

His hero:
My mother.

Neil’s WILD Wish:
To travel back to the Triassic/Jurassic period to see dinosaurs in person…from a safe distance of course.
