Kenna WILD music

What he’s been up to lately:
Putting out Imitation Is Suicide Chapters 1-3 and managing the vision of the NEW Myspace. But most importantly doing it all to reach my life goal of helping solve the Global Clean Water Crisis.

On the connection between his new EP series and Ralph-Waldo Emerson:
At a certain point you realize that God and the universe have conspired to give you all the tools and relationships to build the world you want to live in, and the success you feel is your purpose in life. Emerson’s “Self-Reliance” essay really solidified that thought for me and I dedicated multiple titles in Land 2 Air Chronicles to quotes from the essay. “Imitation Is Suicide” is a quote from Emerson and the title to the second EP in that series and has 9 songs in it.

On the contrast in approach to working with Chad Hugo and RJD2:
RJ and Chad have completely different approaches to making music, but the glue to both of their musical genius is the melodies and lyrics that sit on top of those productions. I get to take what they make and what we make together and build scapes and sounds that defy and define the structure of the musical sonic and together we make journeys.

What  good energy means to him:
Everything. Without it you find that you are misguided. I’m sure of what I am doing when the energy around me and whatever it is, is right. If it isn’t right, there’s a good chance that I won’t do it or get involved. I am lucky that most people know that about me, and don’t approach me with bad energy. But it takes time to cultivate that kind of culture around you.

If he were a sound, it would probably be:
Sometimes I feel like a sound that can only be heard by animals. HA. I think I would want to be the sound of a jet. That’s the first thing that came to mind. Something swift and powerful, and evokes an urgent emotion.

The best and the worst things he’s seen this week:
Best thing I have seen is The Bots play the Mass Appeal party in NYC during CMJ. Worst thing was seeing the inside at 6am on a clock — I just got in. NY doesn’t sleep.

If he could see broad social disruption in one aspect, it would be:
I would want to see every person in the world not drink water for one day. Not use it. Not touch it. Try, just for one day. See how important it is to you, and start to reprioritize it in your life and for the lives of so many.

A record that changed the way he hears music:
Joshua Tree. Bono took me into his world and taught me how to sing with my spirit and not just my words or reality.

Heavy rotation:
I have been listening to M83 on repeat.

What’s next:
Imitation is Suicide – Chapter 2 is out now. Good music and great work to help be a part of change. I just keep on.

Kenna’s WILD Wish:
My WILD Wish is to unite my friends, peers and allies on one thing that is greater than all of us, and affect change like never before. Watch me do it. Better yet. Help me do it. Peers and allies on one thing that is greater than all of us, and affect change like never before. Watch me do it. Better yet. Help me do it.
