What’s on his mind today:
Coffee and cigarettes! It’s 4pm and I still haven’t had either, it’s about time.
What he is currently working on:
I’m working on two documentaries for the avant-garde diaries website. A fashion clip for Bedwin & the heartbreakers’ fashion label. (http://www.bedwintokyo.com/)
And I’m also preparing two music videos as a D.O.P, directed by Monica Elkelv (http://showstudio.com/contributor/monica_elkelv), it will be my first time working with her and I’m very much looking forward to it.
What he thinks there is too much of, too little of:
I think there are too many artists holding onto their past accomplishments, and not enough space for talented young artists, and this is happening in all art forms.
With whom he would like most to go on a “tête à têteâ€:
Mathieu Kassovitz would be on my list, he seems like a nice guy and someone I would have an interesting conversation with, plus I really like his work.
First thing he would do if elected president:
NO VISA, you come and go as you want in my country!!
His most striking moment:
When I was kid, I would sleepwalk once in a while. One night I went out of my house, down in the street. They say you can’t remember properly what you are doing because you are dreaming. That night I saw something I will never forget.
His earliest memory:
The psychedelic wallpaper in my grandmother’s living room. Waves and stars all over the room. The colors were brown, orange and green. Having dinner there was always a journey!
His “artistic” family:
I don’t think I have one or relate to one.
I’ve always had some sort of respect for people in the shadow of others. People like Gordon Willis, who is probably one of the most talented cinematographer I can think of. For those who don’t know his work, he was the one who shot the Godfather (directed by Francis Ford Coppola); people like him make me want to be better at what I do.
With whom he would like to grow old:
The same person I will build a family with! It’s becoming a hard thing to accomplish nowadays.
With whom he would you like to spend his last night:
My lover, my wife.
The soundtrack to his life:
If my life was a film, it would need a soundtrack that usually comes at the end. My life is not over yet, but if I was to direct this film, I would open with FAZON by THE SOPWITH CAMEL.
His WILD Wish:
Scuba diving, I am dying for it! It looks like one of the most amazing thing to do on earth but I am claustrophobic and for some reason I just can’t trust these oxygen bottles.
