What’s on his mind today:
I received a very charming letter with three CD mix tapes from a friend and collaborator in Sydney today, but have no way of playing them on any of my devices, so I’m wondering how I’m going to listen to them.

With whom he would like most to go on a tête à tête:
Oprah. Full stop.

With whom he would like to run a country:
Michelle Obama.

His most striking moment:
I was six years old. My family was driving to Disneyland from Michigan and, as road trips go, we got lost somewhere between Ohio and Florida. I remember my parents arguing about which turn would get us back to the highway when I pointed out a billboard we passed earlier that confirmed the answer and put us back on track. I remember my parents stopping, turning their gaze to one another knowingly, and both cracking a smile. I remember feeling so incredibly proud of myself in that moment for mediating the situation and solving the original problem. Looking back, this seemingly small event was probably the foundation for my career as a communication designer and storyteller.

His earliest memory:
This has always puzzled me because I’m not convinced that many of those early memories are actually remembered and not just envisioned through their Polaroid documentation and recrafted into “memories.” So, the best I can do is also at the age of six. Our first grade class was having a pizza party, but I came down with the flu the day before and was forced to stay home. I was so upset, I cried all day (proof that FOMO was always a thing). After school, my teacher brought over an extra slice that she saved for me, sandwiched between two paper plates that she stapled together and had the entire class sign. From that day forward, I became the nerd that every year received certificates for perfect attendance and rarely missed a school function. I guess six was a big year for me.

What he considers a fashion faux-pas:
Trying too hard. Elegance stems from character.

The kind of movement he would like to start:
I genuinely believe that the runway has been paved through Hello Mr. for a movement to take off which expands a dialogue for gay men that matches our evolved interests and values. Given how we’ve progressed as a community, we were overdue for a rebrand and a fresh platform to hold new conversations.

The people who represents his artistic family:
The guild of writers, illustrators, photographers, and designers who have contributed to Hello Mr.

What he would like to leave to future generations:
An example of someone who pursued their dream and inspired people to pursue theirs, by way of a BrainyQuote.com page.
