WILD for Pulse: Helen Toomer Explains the Value of Change

Helen Toomer is the new Director of PULSE Contemporary Art Fair. When we asked her about her new vision for PULSE last April, she explained that it was important for her to shift the attention back to the artists, to create a more dynamic environment for galleries. Toomer has also been in charge (and very successful) of changing the “face” of the fair. With the abundance of satellite fairs, it is difficult to curate one that is still fresh and stimulating to a highly overwhelmed audience. She was previously Director at Collective Design Fair and owner of toomer labzda gallery

Follow us in Miami to see what Toomer has done with PULSE.

To celebrate PULSE’s 10 year anniversary and new location right on the beach, The WILD is taking an intimate look into the studios of some of the fair’s most exciting talent. We talk about the ways in which the fair has changed with Toomer at the Smyth, a Thompson Hotel right before she takes off for the beach to oversee the opening of PULSE Contemporary Art Fair in Miami December 4-7th, 2014.
