“A Family” by Elizabeth Tomasetti
Wether it’s scoping out the big shot exhibits at MOMA, silently observing the walls at Chelsea galleries, or looking for the next cool thing in Brooklyn studios, when it comes to art, we have a little curator in all of us. We know what’s the shit and whats shit. GO Brooklyn Art is giving the patrons of New York the opportunity to let out our inner art critic and elect upcoming local artists to show their work at The Brooklyn Museum in December.
Artists all around Brooklyn are opening their studios from 11am-7pm on September 8th and 9th to the community, letting registered voters (register here!) vote for their favorite artists using the GO Brooklyn Art App. The website is incredibly easy to use, letting you browse by artists or by neighborhood and create an itinerary of studios you want to visit. The artists with the most votes will have their studios visited by curators at The Brooklyn Museum and potentially have their work in a group show for Target First Fridays. It’s the perfect way to see new work, support the community and be our judgmental selves.
