Valentino Fall 2012

Valentino Fall 2012

Though traditionally known for its striking red, Valentino’s Fall 2012 couture collection is punctuated by soft and somber navy blue, a definitive and bold departure from iconic Valentino. Sheer drapes, pressed pleats, and a luxurious array of silks breath life into this modest, yet striking ladylike collection. Simple silhouettes in rich fabrics are juxtaposed with ornate garments crafted from traditional brocades, heavy velvets, and delicate lace overlays. And as usual, intricate embroidery, floral motifs, and playful peek-a-boo evening gowns punctuate Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli’s romantic, regal fall collection.
