The Streets of Afghanistan project will blow your mind. Despite the naysaying that bridges and lasting relationships might not be possible with communities seemingly mired in conflict, this touring public works project highlights life-size photographs that “depict life in Afghanistan, as Afghans see it.”

The non-profit organization, Mountain2Mountain (M2M), is the exhibit’s sponsor and is currently installing a curation of eye-opening images on the busy streets of Kabul and other select regions. As a collaborative effort and voice, this bold project also brings together the talents and observations of both Afghan and Western photographers in an unprecedented way.

“Connecting communities and cultures in an effort to combat apathy and break stereotypes in a region of the world enduring nearly four decades of conflict.” Follow updates on the Streets of Afghanistan here. Do not miss M2M volunteer Anna Brones’ recent reflections on Bridging The Gap: Why Afghan Women’s Rights Are Our Rights.
