What do you do after you’ve sent half the world into a danceable frenzy for the past two years, paring up with everyone from M.I.A. to Nina Sky, La Roux, Santigold, Busy Signal and Prince Zimboo, just to name a few? Meddling into the deep Jamaican jungle to climb wooded landscapes and mess around in the studio!

Apparently, that’s what Major Lazer has been doing recently. The team of Diplo and Switch are definitely no stranger to Jamaica, since they recorded their 2009 debut “Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do” at Tuff Gong Studios. This time around, they secluded in Gee Jam Studios in Port Antonio to finish up some work on their sophomore release due out early this fall, as evident in the video posted by Diplo’s label “Mad Decent” on YouTube.

In the clip we see the boys doing what they do best, soaking up their influences and surroundings to create new and exciting tracks which will feature contributions from Jahdan Blakkamoore, Vybz Kartel and Dirty Projectors singer Amber Coffman, whose sexy voice brings an Ace of Base quality to the hot dancehall rhythms we’re accustomed to by Major Lazer. All of this will surely lead to the preview on YouTube of the album’s first single, “Original Don”, featuring The Partysquad.

Judging by the sights and sounds of this video clip, DIplo and Switch’s experiments are paying off. They have put together another interesting selection of tunes that will surely put the dance floors back on fire. Hipsters beware!
