Fragments Of The Human Experience

Czar Kristoff is a photographer from the Philippines who photographs almost entirely in black and white, the monochrome displaying just as much detail as the full color reality . While Kristoff often focuses on the human body, he never hands the subject, head to toe, over to the viewer. He tends to create pieces showing only one corner, a torso or a bottom-half of a person, providing the human form in fragments and leaving us wanting more. He photographs all else in a similar fashion; trees, landscapes and still-life cropped in a perspective that allows everything around him to be seen in a new light.

Czar’s WILD Wish: Probably to time travel and photograph my mother giving birth to me, and then photograph myself at my own funeral.
