Erin Fetherston Spring 2013 Show Review

When Erin Fetherston is mentioned, sweet, romantic party dresses and sequins come to mind. This season however, the designer experimented with a tougher aesthetic. There was still a heavy infusion of luxe, girly fabrics and prints as well as Fetherston’s classic dresses, but some garments sported leather, zebra prints, and black. An evening appropriate floor-length sequin gown in zebra print was classic Fetherston, as were the adorable feathered skirts and printed short suits. Other favorites were the lipstick printed trousers and top (which were made by Fetherston’s own team’s lips). But we loved how the designer combined leather skirts with black studded cardigans. “I brought in a lot of hardware to balance out the froth and lighter-than-air fabrics,” said the designer to Style.com. We couldn’t imagine anything prettier for fashionistas looking for a party outfit.
