Emerging Talent at Fashionclash

by: Lucia Cabanova

If you haven’t heard of Fashionclash, then it is definitely worth checking out, especially if you’re a fan of emerging designers and artists. Last month, more than 100 fresh talents from 20 countries from all over the world presented their collections and artwork in Maastricht, Netherlands. This was the 4th edition of a unique platform for young designers and artists that got the chance to present their work in front of a diverse and international audience.

Behind the idea of this unique event are two fashion designers Branko Popovic and Nawie Kuiper, and one product designer Laurens Hamacher all graduates of the Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts and Design. The initial idea was to promote their own work by the means of a collaboration, which then turned into an exciting event full of promising talent throughout the world.

Fashionclash Maastricht Netherlands Emerging Fashion Designers

This year, I got the incredible opportunity to show my own work at Fashionclash and I must say it was a great honor to be a part of it. The whole event was extremely well organized, which meant that there wasn’t much room for stress, apart from the few minutes leading up to my own show. There was also time to meet other designers, artists and models, and even the chance to have a talk with the friendly organizers.

So if you’re a young designer that maybe hasn’t had the chance to show their work to the public yet, Fashionclash Maastricht could be something to think about! Please check facebook for updates on how to sign up for the next season.
