This mix is about as schizophrenic as [...]
Chairlift may have actually discovered a way to make their infectious indie-pop even cuter. In celebration of Young Turks‘ release of their sophomore album, Something, in Japan, the duo have created a Japanese-language version of their song “I Belong in Your Arms.” To accompany the track, lead singer Caroline Polachek and guitarist, Patrick Wimberly made a karaoke-inspired video featuring the pair cheerfully bopping in front of animated airplanes, ladders, geometric shapes and undulating patterns. Polachek even sings the song in Japanese herself, having lived there for some time as a child. For those in Japan, this version of the song will be available for purchase as a 7” and will also feature an instrumental version by Kurt Feldman from The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and Ice Choir. As for the rest of the world, we’ll just have to settle for hitting refresh on this adorable video over and over again.
