Celebrate the Real Beach Babes of Brazil

With the infiltration of the Wold Cup in Brazil, the unrealistic portrayal of the country has been called into question. What we like to believe is a paradise of high rise bikinis and tropical fruits is actually the home of poverty and corruption, something that sports broadcasts overlook and the swimsuit editions rarely document. Luckily Brooklyn based photographer June Canedo has found a way to show the real culture of the Brazilian beach without compromising the vibrant attitude that makes the country shine. Check out Canedo’s photographs from her new photo book, Brazilian Girls, which shows the reality of the country, bikini and all.
