Art Talks with Fanny Allié
Name: Fanny Allié
Where you are from: Montpellier in the South of France
Where you live now: Brooklyn, NY
What you do: Artist
What was your first experience with art?
At 16, I started staging and photographing my two sisters. I wouldn’t really call it art but it was my first creative experience, it was very free and intuitive.
What is there too much and too little of?
Too little self-deprecating humor, too much seriousness. Too much thinking, too little action, too little mystery…
What influences you?
Other artists, people on the street, my family, the news…
If you were another person/place or thing, what would it be?
I have a hard time answering that question…a lake or a lawyer?
What are you obsessed with?
When I have to come up with an idea for a project and I’m blanking out, I can easily get very obsessive.
What are you currently working on?
A possible window installation in the West Village, a public art sculpture for the Engaging Artist residency I was recently a part of and a series of urban characters inspired by the streets.
What is your WILD Wish?
Never stop working on my projects.
